The Seventh-day Adventist Church maintains specific initiatives that aim at the physical, mental, social and spiritual development of children and adolescents. They contribute to preparing boys and girls for life’s challenges, and to better serve the community in which they are inserted.
The Adventurers Club was created especially for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 9, and is characterized by four aspects of the child’s integral development: physical, mental, spiritual and social. This is an international program, without distinction of gender, nationality, ethnicity or religion, and the environment provided by the club at each meeting is safe and pleasant.
Among the various activities for the development of the adventurers are classes and specialties, in which each one of them becomes knowledgeable about a subject and prepares to serve. In this way, they take advantage of and develop skills in the areas they like most. Those who go through the club can become better family members, better students at school and will certainly be much more involved in the church and in their community.
For young people and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 15, the Pathfinder Club mobilizes its members in great experiences of adventure, friendship and overcoming.
The focus is on physical activities, especially outdoors, such as camping and hiking. The Bible is used as the main guide for the participants, who can belong to any religion. The Pathfinders also get involved in activities in urban centers, such as distributing educational pamphlets, planting trees, visiting nursing homes and orphanages, and running clothing drives.
The Pathfinder Club is a partner in social and environmental issues, and has learning areas such as first aid, public speaking, knots and ties, the art of camping, among others. Notions of leadership are learned from an early age to serve God, the Church and the community in which they are inserted.
