LOCAL CHURCH

It is made up of members who help and support each other, as well as encouraging and leading others to know Christ through Bible studies and testimony. Physically, it is located in large and small urban centers, rural areas and territories that are difficult to access. It is a legal entity that belongs to the Association or the Mission.

ASSOCIATION / MISSION

Administrative headquarters formed by a group of local churches in a given area. It coordinates the work of the pastors responsible for each temple, church and region, called a pastoral district. It also provides training for members and promotes evangelistic activity in its region. A group of Associations and/or Missions forms a Union.

UNION

Office that guides and supports the work of Associations and Missions. It is responsible for a geography formed by one or more States, or even a country. The Unions existing throughout the globe form the General Conference.

GENERAL ASSOCIATION

It is the world headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in the city of Silver Spring, in the United States. It is responsible, among other functions, for maintaining the unity of the denomination around the world, especially in relation to its philosophy and doctrines.
